Individual Therapy

Great question! First you can reach out to book a free 15 minute virtual consultation. The consultations purpose is for you to ask us questions, and bring up whatever is on your mind.

Afterwards, if you want to continue we’ll schedule our first session, sometimes referred to as the initial intake. Think of that session as a rough outline to therapy. We’ll get to know each other more and discuss specific goals and challenges you face. This session helps build a foundation and ensures that both you and your therapist feel comfortable and prepared to move forward in the process.

Once that’s completed, we’ll begin individual sessions! These sessions last 50 minutes, where you and your therapist can explore topics you’ve planned ahead or delve into whatever is on your mind in the moment.

Starting individual therapy is a brave step toward self-discovery and healing. It provides a safe, confidential space to explore your thoughts and emotions, gain insights, and develop coping strategies. While the first step can feel daunting, it’s the beginning of a journey toward understanding yourself and creating a more fulfilling life.

How Can Therapy Help Me?

How Do I Start?

You’re asking all the right questions today! What happens when you keep filling a balloon with air? It pops! Now, let’s imagine that balloon is you, and the air represents all those thoughts, feelings, memories, and experiences we keep inside. If we never let them out, what might happen to us? We might ‘pop,’ and we don’t want that. Think of therapy as your outlet to release all that built-up pressure. It helps clear space in your mind and fill it with healthier, more fulfilling thoughts. By doing this, we can improve our relationships, mental health, break unhealthy cycles, heal from trauma, and ultimately live more fulfilling lives. If any of this resonates with you, therapy could be a great fit.

It depends on you! You are the captain of this ship. Some individuals come into therapy with clear goals and specific topics to address, while others may be unsure and take time to discover what they need. We believe there’s is no wrong way to approach it. We’re here to provide a nonjudgmental space where you can share what’s on your mind as we listen, ask questions, and work together to explore what’s beneath the surface.
