Your Story Matters
A therapy practice dedicated to serving, empowering, and uplifting the Asian community
Who We Are
We are Orange Slice Therapy, a California-based practice dedicated to serving the Asian American community. We recognize mental health has long been a taboo topic in Asian culture, and our culturally sensitive team is here to ease any concerns you may have. Whether you’re navigating imposter syndrome, low self-worth, anxiety, depression, burnout, or everything in between, we understand the unique challenges you face.
You deserve a space where you feel seen, heard, supported, and understood. Our therapists are here to honor your lived experiences while navigating life challenges together, all through the lenses of your Asian American identify.
For many of us, sliced fruit was the the ultimate sign of kindness growing up. It represented the lengths our families would go to ensure we were healthy, cared for, and loved. Now that we’re older lets return the favor and show ourselves love by embarking on this journey together. We’ll heal from past hurts and build a more balanced future because your growth, healing and story matter.
Do you have difficulty speaking your mind or feel unheard when you do? Hierarchies exist in many Asian households where elders have the final say, regardless of our thoughts. As a result, it becomes difficult for us to speak up, whether at work, with friends, or when asking for a lactose-free alternative milk at our local boba shop.
We invite you to voice your thoughts and be the star of your own story, because no one knows it more than you. It is unique to you, and we are honored to be part of its telling. Our role is not to direct or tell you what to do, but to offer support and guidance—fostering the confidence within you to take up space and lead your journey to growth and healing.
Our Approach
Collaborative
Inspire Insight
How does your inner dialogue sound? Is it kind and empathetic, or filled with thoughts like “I’m not good enough,” “I’ll never make it,” and “I’m not worth it?” If its the latter, have you ever wondered why? Comparisons and lack of validation are common patterns in Asian households. Growing up with our faults highlighted more than our accomplishments can skew our inner dialogue, and in turn, our self-worth.
However, you are worth it. Lets gently explore the why behind your thoughts, feelings, and actions to reshape your inner dialogue and self-worth, helping you embrace that you are good enough.
Emotion Focused
Is it difficult for you to label what you’re feeling? The ‘conceal, don’t feel’ mentality is a troubling issue in the Asian American community. From a young age, we’re often taught our feelings come second to the well-being of the group. Many of us weren’t taught how to express or feel our emotions. Now, as an adult we may struggle to label our emotions and feel “wrong” for experiencing certain ones.
Your emotions are valid. You are not wrong for feeling them. While respecting your cultural upbringing, we will empower you to identify and better understand your emotions fostering increased emotional awareness, improve relationships, enhance regulation, and reduce stress and anxiety.
